“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.” Luke 11:33
“ I feel as if I should have always known - deep down - that Photography was for me. I always wanted to be an artist; but, my skills with a pencil or paintbrush are a little less to be desired.
I used to (and umm confession… still do!) google images of landscapes and just admire their beauty or ‘follow’ (I use the word ‘follow’ loosely… it should really be stalk) photographers on facebook because of their incredible talent. In waiting rooms, I would always reach for the National Geograpic – cause they hardly ever disappoint with one breathtaking photograph after another.
In 2013, after many years of watching from the sidelines, my wonderful husband caught on before I did, and blessed me with a gift of my very first DSLR camera.
Since then, the pictures haven't stopped. I started taking a few pictures for some friends and from there word spread.
After just 4 pictures posted on the web, I had nearly a dozen families approach me for photos. By my third month into photography, I had bookings for: senior portraits, family portraits, maternity, two professional sporting events and multiple weddings!
Voila! SonLight Photography was born!
My knowledge and growth is primarily due to the support of many close friends, family members and photography associations. My second year in business I became a member of New Hampshire’s Professional Photographers Association. My third year in business, I also joined the Professional Photographers of America , and began the process of earning my C.P.P (Certified Professional Photographer).
